Artist's Comments ~Overly specific list of Supplies~ -Reference: picture of a Crow's foot I took -Strathmore Dry Media 11.5"x14" (29.2x35.6cm) 100lbb (163 g/m squared) paper -Design Drawing 3800 pencils 4b-4h (I actually used one entire 4b and 2b pencils!) -Steadtler Mars Plastic erasers ( I had to cut one with pruning shears a lot to keep it sharp), and a Kneaded eraser. -Roughly 30 hours of time, maybe more And that's it! We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it. Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you  the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. It looks so, so cool. I really like the intense detail and shading. We really get a sense of depth and the feel of its skin as well. It's angle and position is quite interesting too.

The biggest thing I had to worry about was giving that sense of depth. Each toe had to fade as it got farther away, but I had never done that before so it was difficult at first. But I figured it out as you can see.
There's a bit of a story too for the way the foot is positioned. Apart from the photo looking that way, I wanted to change it slightly and have it almost look like it was reaching for something (it looked kinda limp in the photo).
